Cypripedium parviflorum pubescens is another easy American species that grows well in a UK garden because both countries have a similar four season year unlike the species from China. This enables plants to grow in the exact same way as they would in the wild. The species produces medium size flowers on 30 cm stems and has the added bonus of being scented. They flower in late May into June.
The plants are sent out to customers in the UK in two litre pots in a suitable mix which enables the purchaser to either grow the plant in the pot in a cold frame or it can be plunged in the soil in a cold shady spot. Plants are sent out from OCTOBER to MARCH whilst the plants are dormant.
