Cypripedium kentuckiense

Cypripedium kentuckiense
As the name implies C kentuckiense is a native of the US States around Kentucky. It flowers on tall spikes late in the season with single flowers that are the largest of the western species. The huge flower is enhanced by the long twisted sepals. It is a relatively slow to develop into a clump; usually adding only one or two additional buds each year. It can be grown in the garden and in a pot provided the usual rules are followed and is easy to grow. Plants are sent out in the appropriate compost when they are dormant between OCTOBER TO MARCH.
