Frosch’s Mountain King’ is a selected clone of Cypripedium Sebastian which has been micro proped to produce consistent quality plants. The seedlings of the hybrid Sebastian are somehow sensitive to wet summers, whereas our ’Frosch’s Mountain King’ even managed to cope well with the extremely wet and cold summer of 2011 in the propagation beds. However, the wet and cold spring of 2013 led to a loss of several plants, so good drainage is always recommended.
This elegant clone captivates the eye by its striking flower coloration and shape as well as the slender growth of its shoots. Everything reminds strongly about the wild species Cypripedium montanum from North America. ‘Frosch’s Mountain King’’ forms many flowers, often two per stem. He grows up to 55 cm (22 in) high and flowers in the second half of May.
Plants will be sent out potted to UK customers in a suitable compost from October to Msrch.
