Bletilla ochracea

Bletilla ochracea
A far eastern species flowering in June/July with yellowish flower spikes 30 cm tall. Has smaller pseudo-bulbs than the striata species. Probably best grown in a large pot to enable winter protection during the dormacy period. Water with weak liquid fertilizer every three weeks during the growing season. Like all bletillas they should be divided immediately after flowering. It prefers a sandy loam medium with limited organic matter if grown in a pot and should be fed with weak liquid fertilizer regularly during the growing season.

Plants are normally sent out potted with full growing instructions to customers in the UK. They can normally be sent during the period SEPTEMBER to MARCH whilst the plant is dormant.
