This is the Lax or Jersey Orchid. The latter because it is the only site in the UK where it grows in the wild. A tall flowering species with large tubers its habitat is wet grassland areas. It grows well in a pot provided it is kept damp at all times. It needs a larger pot than most anacamptis because of the large size of the tuber and it habit of producing a long dropper. Growth starts late and it will not open into a rosette until early in the new year.
Plants are normally sent out potted with full growing instructions to customers in the UK. They can normally be sent during the period AUGUST to DECEMBER after which time growth is such that the rosette may get damaged.
